Jacob Group of Schools: ‘Go Green’ Environment Day
Tiruvallur, June 5, 2025: In a significant initiative led by the Honourable Chairman of Jacob Group of Schools, Tiruvallur, Jacob Matriculation School, Manavalanagar, observed World Environment Day today. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection and promote a greener future.
The day’s proceedings began with the felicitation of the chief guests, Mr. Wilson Rajakumaran, Inspector of the Fire Department and Mr. Karnan, Sub Inspector of Police, Manavalanagar. They were welcomed by Mrs. Vidya Sankaran, Senior Vice Principal, Mr. Joseph Johnson, Vice Principal, and Mr. Sudhir John, Assistant Academic Coordinator.
A vibrant rally was the highlight of the observance. The rally for the high school students of Jacob Matriculation School, Manavalanagar, along with their teachers, was flagged off by the chief guests, Mr. Wilson Rajakumaran and Mr. Karnan. Dressed in their Scout and Guides attire, the students energetically raised slogans to promote environmental awareness.
As the rally progressed, it was joined by primary students from Jacob Nursery and Primary School, Ondikuppam upon reaching their campus. The rally for these younger students was separately flagged off by Dr. Malarvaanan, MV Life care Hospital. Students from both schools continued to raise slogans and, in a symbolic gesture for a greener tomorrow, threw seed balls on fields along their route.
The event served as an eye-opener for both the students and the general public, effectively conveying the importance of environmental responsibility and conservation.
