MASS EXPO 2025: JACOB’S MASSIVE SUCCESS!

Jacob Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Periyakuppam, hosted a highly successful MASS (Mathematics and Science, Social Science) Expo on January 24, 2025. The entire school community, from Kindergarteners to Higher Secondary students, enthusiastically participated, transforming the campus into a vibrant showcase of learning and innovation. This event was made possible through the vision and unwavering support of our esteemed Chairman, Rtn. Adv. J. Y James Jayaraj, and our dedicated Principal, Mrs. Joyce Maria, whose commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment is truly appreciated.

The expo highlighted the students’ understanding of various concepts across the three disciplines. Science projects dominated, with impressive displays from all levels. Kindergarteners captivated visitors with live animals, shadow play on translucent screens, and colorful displays of fruits and vegetables, demonstrating their burgeoning understanding of the world around them. Higher Secondary students delved into complex scientific principles, presenting detailed explanations of resonance, phase shift, center of gravity, cyclotron, electron emission, and intricate biological systems like the digestive and respiratory systems, complete with working models.

Students from primary and high school levels presented projects aligned with their curriculum, showcasing their grasp of key scientific concepts. Notable exhibits included working models of irrigation systems, windmills, rainwater harvesting systems, acid rain, Chandrayaan, rockets, and hydraulic lifts. They also demonstrated their understanding of the food pyramid, photosynthesis, volcanoes, Newton’s Disc, and various plant classifications.

The Social Science department contributed significantly with models depicting layers of the atmosphere, historical monuments like the Red Fort, India Gate, and Qutub Minar, and displays of the Rippon Building, old stamps, and coins. The Mathematics department engaged visitors with interactive projects focusing on finding factors, HCF, LCM, roots of quadratic equations, and various mathematical games.

The expo witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and unwavering support from the faculty. Chairman Rtn. Adv. J. Y James Jayaraj and Principal Mrs. Joyce Maria expressed their delight, visiting each project and interacting with the students. The dedication of the Academic Director Mrs. Vidya Sankaran, Branch Head Mrs. Gladys Luie, the Pre-Primary, Primary, and High School Coordinators, Department HODs, and teachers was instrumental in the event’s success. Parents also attended in large numbers, beaming with pride as they witnessed their children’s active participation and insightful explanations.

Adding a unique touch, students dressed as doctors conducted basic health checkups, including measuring height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure, for visitors. Students from the Manavalanagar branch of Jacob Matriculation School also visited the expo, further enhancing the collaborative spirit of the event.

The MASS Expo 2025 was a resounding success, providing a platform for students to showcase their knowledge, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. It fostered a deeper understanding of scientific, mathematical, and social science concepts, and strengthened the bond between the school, students, parents, and the wider community.
