Students Rally for World Environment Day in Tiruvallur
Tiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu – June 5, 2025 – Over 350 enthusiastic students from Jacob Matric Higher Secondary School, a branch of Jacob Group of Schools in Tiruvallur, participated in a vibrant rally on World Environment Day, June 5, 2025. The rally aimed to raise public awareness about environmental protection and the critical need to “Nurture Nature to Nurture our Future.”
The event commenced at 9:00 AM with dignitaries from the District Education Department and the Rotary Club gracing the occasion. Mrs. Thenmozhi, DEO-Private Schools Tiruvallur, flagged off the rally, followed by Mr. A.G. Suresh from the Rotary Club, who officially inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon. Mr. J.Y. James Jayaraj, Correspondent of Jacob Group of Schools, led the procession, with Mrs. K. Joyce Maria, the esteemed Principal, guiding the eco-friendly initiative.
Throughout the rally, participants sang a special theme song. Students proudly displayed eye-catching eco-friendly materials, including saplings, seed balls, and seed bags containing neem, pungam, tamarind, and mixed seeds. They also carried informative placards adorned with thought-provoking slogans emphasizing the 4 R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. The air was filled with enthusiastic chants of “Go Green!” and “Save Nature!”, further amplifying the message of environmental responsibility.
The rally underscored the importance of shunning plastics and embracing sustainable alternatives like mud pots, tea cups, paper, jute bags, and yellow cloth bags. Senior Vice Principal Mrs. Gladies Luie, Vice Principal Mr. Prathap (Higher Secondary Dept.), Vice Principal Mrs. Humera Rukshana (High School Dept.), and Head Mistress Mrs. Rajasekari (Primary Dept.), along with other dedicated teachers, also participated, providing encouragement to every student.
The event concluded with a powerful message: “Tiny change, Big Impact — Save the Earth!” and a collective call to action: “It is the right time to Care our Nature! to Save our Future!!!”
