THE JACOB NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL ENGLISH LITERARY ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION 2025 The air buzzed with anticipation as Jacob Nursery and Primary School, Ondikuppam, celebrated the inauguration of its English Literary Association for the year 2025. The event, held on January 31st, proved to be a vibrant showcase of the students’ linguistic talents and a testament to the dedication of the faculty. From the youngest kindergarteners to the more seasoned fifth graders, the students captivated the audience with a diverse program that blended creativity with educational enrichment.
The proceedings commenced with a serene prayer, “Shepherd of my Soul,” rendered by the melodious school choir, followed by a thoughtful Bible reading. Principal, Mrs. Joyce Maria, then led the school in a prayer, invoking blessings upon the newly inaugurated association. A graceful welcome dance ushered in a wave of youthful exuberance. The kindergarteners took center stage with an Alphabet Fashion Show, showcasing their creativity and knowledge of the alphabet. Their storytelling prowess shone brightly as they brought “The Thirsty Crow” and “The Fox and the Grapes” to life, their costumes and dramatic flair transporting the audience to the heart of these classic fables. The Grade 1 students further enriched the narrative tapestry with their own storytelling and dances, demonstrating excellent conversational skills that belied their young age.






The formal inauguration of the English Literary Association saw Principal Mrs. Joyce Maria leading the oath-taking ceremony for the President, Vice President, and Secretary. A skit and dance centered around action words, coupled with expressive poem recitations, kept the audience engaged. A breathtaking formation dance left spectators spellbound, while a group of students effectively conveyed emotions through visually appealing charts. The practical aspects of language learning were not forgotten, as students explained classroom rules with the aid of illustrative charts, and students explored the different rooms of a house using charming miniature models. The achievements of students in various English language competitions, including reading, writing, and handwriting, were duly recognized and celebrated by Principal Mrs. Joyce Maria, who presented awards to the deserving winners. The natural world took center stage as students dressed as various pond insects, from dragonflies to bumblebees, brought the ecosystem to life with their authentic sounds and movements. The medical field made an appearance as students recited the names of different skin ailments, accompanied by visual aids. The nuances of the English language were explored further as students presented general English alongside its IELTS equivalent. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the captivating rendition of the fairy tale, “Snow White.” The stage was transformed into a magical forest, complete with the dwarfs’ cottage and a miniature table with seven chairs. The students portraying Snow White, the Prince, the stepmother, the magic mirror, the seven dwarfs, and the hunter, embodied their roles with remarkable conviction, transporting the audience into the enchanting world of the story. A grammar song, a glossary presentation, and a lesson on irregular verb forms reinforced key grammatical concepts. The parts of speech were clearly explained with examples, while collective nouns were illustrated using engaging pictures. The importance of reading was emphasized by students, who also showcased their understanding of different reading books through informative charts. Principal Mrs. Joyce Maria, in her concluding address, praised the students for their outstanding performances and acknowledged the tireless efforts of the teachers. A special note of gratitude was extended to our honourable Chairman of Jacob group of Schools, Rtn. Adv. J. Y James Jayaraj, the driving force behind all school activities. His continuous work and dedication are instrumental in bringing about a transformation in society through the students of Jacob Group of Schools. She concluded with a prayer for the continued blessings upon the school, its students, teachers, in-charges Mrs. Indira and Mrs. Joyce Philip, and the Vice Principal, Ms. Mercy, who was commended for her instrumental role in organizing the successful event which was followed by the vote of thanks, bringing the memorable occasion to a close.
